Väätäinen has made a name for himself on Instagram with his other real-life Disney renderings of the characters we know and love. The artist boasts over 213,000 follows on Instagram and has created ultra-realistic (and just plain stunning) portraits of Disney heroes, heroines, and villains. His newest collection, though, is kicking things up a notch. Väätäinen’s interpretations of Disney dads are total beefcakes, and we’re not even a little bit mad about it. The artist created renderings of Chief Powhatan (father of Pocahontas), Cassim (father of Aladdin), King Triton (father of Ariel), Zeus (father of Hercules), and Tarzan’s dad who isn’t given a name. The beefed-up versions of these Disney dads are so beyond handsome and making us want to go back and rewatch Aladdin and the King of Thieves. The images are also realistic enough to make us question whether they’re drawings or photographs. While they’re definitely not photos, Väätäinen clarified that they’re not technically drawings either. In a reply to an Instagram comment, he said that he creates the images on Photoshop through photo compositing. Regardless, the result is gorgeous and this particular collection is making the internet, um … feel things. The comments on Väätäinen posts are ripe with heart eyes emojis and other less family-friendly reactions (check them out for yourself below). Also, in case you were wondering, it’s totally not weird to have a crush on a cartoon character. In fact, it’s pretty normal. (Seriously, we asked a psychologist.) So go ahead — thirst away.
