In the exclusive clip (which you can watch above) shows Daniel and his dad are packing for the campout. They hop onto Trolley with a tent, backpacks, and everything they need to get a stew going. Once they arrive, the other dads and their kids are setting up the campsite. Katerina arrives and is surprised to learn that the theme of the campout is “Daddy and Me.” She gets nervous because she’s the only camper who brought her mom, but her fears are assuaged when her mom sings “Families are different, and that’s OK,” because hey, families are different, and that is OK. This continues the excellent tradition of Daniel Tiger episodes dealing with gender-norms relative to mothers and fathers. For example, just last year, Daniel Tiger’s mom went back to work. The full episode will premiere on September 19, part of Family Week, a themed week of brand-new Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood episodes on the PBS Kids 24/7 channel and digital platform.
