According to Billboard‘s website, the rankings are determined by “key fan interactions with music, including album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, Youtube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.” The earworm, created by South Korean educational entertainment company Pinkfong, originally went viral on YouTube back in June 2016. Since then, it has garnered over 3.1 billion views and is now one of the top 30 most-watched videos in the history of YouTube.
